    报告题目:Sonar Image Processing for the Detection andClassification of Ground Mines in Underwater Scenarios

    报告人简介:Dieter Kraus has been the Professor of signal processing with application in engineering acoustics in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science of the City University of Applied Sciences in Bremen, Germany since 2001. He received the B.Sc. degree from University of Applied Sciences in Bielefeld, Germany in 1983 and the M.Sc. and the Dr.-Ing. (Ph.D) degrees from Ruhr University Bochum, Germany, in 1987 and 1993, respectively, all in electrical engineering. From 1987-1992, he was research associate at the Institute of Signal Theory, Department of Electrical Engineering, Ruhr University Bochum, Germany and visiting research associate at the ETSI of the Universidad Politecnica Madrid, Spain, at the ENSIEG of the Institute Polytechnique de Grenoble, France and at the CAPS-IST of the Universidade Tecnica de Lisboa, Portugal. From 1993-2001, he was with the Naval Systems Division at ATLAS ELEKTRONIK GmbH, Bremen, where he was finally head of the Department for Future Minehunting Sonar Concepts and Theoretical Investigations. His main research interests lie in the area of underwater acoustics and sonar engineering, particularly in the design of acoustic transmitter and receiver arrays, data acquisition and signal conditioning techniques, advanced sonar signal and image processing methods, and automatic target recognition systems.

    报告内容简介:This report includes all together five parts. It starts from the introduction to the topic and then moves to the Sonar Image Denoising, which leads to the next part, Region of Interest (ROI) Detection. The fourth part, Sonar Image Segmentation, is composed of Region based Approaches and Contour based Approaches. The last part is the Concluding Remarks. The presentation includes about 80 slides, so that the talk can take more than 2 hours depending on the audience’s interest and interaction.
