Recently the "2018 International Engineering & Robotics Competition，China" was held in China University of Geosciences, in Wuhan, Hubei. After a few days of fierce competition, NPU’s (Northwestern Polytechnical University) international team competed with other 200 teams in Off-road Project All-terrain Race and finally won two second prizes.
It was the first time for NPU students to participate in International Engineering & Robotics Competition China. In the course of competition, NPU students showed outstanding performance. NPU was also the only university that has the international students participating in this competition. The team was composed of four international students from Pakistan, Kazakhstan and Malawi, and two students from China.
This competition was divided into robot competition, engineering innovation design, artificial intelligent robot and engineering cross-country project. This year, 1858 teams from 355 units entered the competition, including 2591 teachers and 5186 students.
After a few days of intense competition, the team of NPU successfully passed the design report, the robot design competition by the creative design and skilled operation, and finally got good achievements.
China Engineering Robot Competition is a national competition sponsored by the College Innovation Method Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education and the International League of Engineering Robots. It has formed robotics competition in the field of Transport Engineering, Competitive Engineering, Racing Engineering, Biomedical Engineering which caters to the engineering applications, outstanding innovation practice and has a certain influence in China.
The International College and the Engineering Practice Training Center have actively built a base of innovation and practice for international students at the university —NPU’s International Practice Innovation Base. This base aims to cultivate the ability of international students to innovate and practice, encourage international students to participate in science and technology competitions and various innovative activities, and provide international students with a platform for transforming ideas into entities.
