The Robot Team of NPU Has Won the ICRA 2018 DJI RoboMaster AI Challenges
2018-06-03 10:35

"ICRA 2018 DJI RoboMaster Artificial Intelligence Challenge" was jointly organized by "IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (International Conference on Robotics and Automation)" and "DJI RoboMaster Organizing Committee". It is a robot innovation competition for global outstanding young engineers platform. The ICRA 2018 DJI RoboMaster Artificial Intelligence Challenge attracted a total of 69 renowned universities or research institutes from 9 different countries and regions, which includes the University of Melbourne, University of Washington, University of Alberta, Nanyang Technological University of Singapore, Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, National Space Science Center of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

ICRA 2018 was held on May 21, 2018 and May 25, 2018 at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Center in Brisbane, Australia. The team of postgraduate competitive robots of our school, the innovation and practice base of college football robots, and the joint venture team of DJI Innovation and Entrepreneurship Practice Base participated in the contest. In the end, they overcame various difficulties and won a special nomination award and honors for our school.

The International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA) is the flagship conference of the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society. It is also an important forum for robot researchers to present their work. The ICRA was established in 1984 and it was held once a year. It brings together experts from the fields of robotics and automation to enable them to exchange ideas through the presentation and discussion of scientific research results. ICRA has created a very good environment for all delegates to participate, allowing them to immerse themselves in cutting-edge research on robotics and automated science and technology. ICRA 2018 was held in Brisbane. As usual, in addition to the exchange of academic papers, this ICRA also held a large-scale, type-rich robotics challenge game.

"ICRA 2018 DJI RoboMaster AI Challenge" is an all-intelligent robot shooting confrontation game. The team needs to independently develop 1-2 artificial intelligence robots. The game was played in a 5m*8m venue where different functional organ props were laid. The team's artificial intelligence robots fully fired projectiles against the DJI RoboMaster artificial intelligence robot in order to defeat the official robot to win the game. If you can defeat the two robots of the Organizing Committee, you can rank according to the time and the amount of blood lost by the two robots that defeated the Organizing Committee.

The postgraduate competitive robot base of Northwestern Polytechnical University has always been one of the key postgraduate innovation practice bases established by the university. In recent years, it has had a good foundation in terms of hardware conditions, practical teaching, faculty and laboratory management, and has formed certain characteristics. To contribute to the development of top-notch innovative talents and robotic technology innovation in our school. The robot technology innovation at the base has conducted in-depth research on robot mechanism design, coordinated motion planning, intelligent control methods, and multi-robot intelligent group decision making. It has become an important practice for cultivating students' scientific spirit, inspiring innovation, achieving creativity, and boosting innovation and entrepreneurship base.
