During the summer, a sudden outbreak of the epidemic broke out in Nanjing, and people tried to fight the epidemic by reducing their travel. As a contemporary young students, we should learn from the medical workers who do not fear and do not shrink back. We shall carry forward the school's spirit of " Loyalty，Integrity，Courage and Perseverance" to fight the epidemic prevention war.
Hu Yiyang, an undergraduate student of the School of Marine Science and Technology, actively responded to the call of the Nanjing Youth League Committee and NPU when the epidemic broke out and signed up to be a volunteer. During the nearly 10 days of volunteer service, he cleaned up the medical waste generated by nucleic acid testing. He identified residents who came for nucleic acid testing and delivered meals to doctors who worked hard all day. He also maintained order, and assisted the elderly and children to complete the testing procedures.
Nanjing was in the sweltering heat, and volunteers had to wear thick protective clothing. At the end of the day, their heads, gloves and even shoes were covered with sweat, and their clothes could be twisted out of the sweat. Some volunteers even fainted due to heat stroke.
No matter how difficult it is, they are trying to fight the epidemic. The community prepared ice cubes, electric fans and other appliance. And they also adopted the alternate rest system, so as to protect the volunteers.
Huyiyang saw the mutual support among nanjing residents. The most beautiful angels in white who insist on going against the tide, and the front-line personnel who insist on fighting against the epidemic in all positions, as well as the selfless devotees who collect materials everywhere, all of them are working hard to contribute their own strength to battle against the epidemic.
In the face of the epidemic, “For everyone, no winter is insurmountable and no spring will come.The night of winter, though long, can never keep out the dawn.We are waiting for spring.” Huyiyang said.
