Chen Jie Is Awarded The Distinguished Lecturer of APSIPA

On January 10, 2018, after going through the procedure of nomination, accreditation, and the final vote, the Council of Asia-Pacific Signal and Information Processing Association (APSIPA) announced nine Distinguished Lecturers. Chen Jie, the professor in School of Marine Science and Technology of Northwestern Polytechnical University, was successfully selected as one of the winners.


APSIPA

APSIPA is an emerging association to promote broad spectrum of research and education activities in signal and information processing. The interest of APSIPA encompasses but not limited to signal and information processing, recognition, classification, communication, networking, computing, system design and implementation, security, and technology with applications to scientific, engineering, health, and social areas.

 

The Distinguished Lecturer

The Distinguished Lecturer (DL) Program is established to serve the communities by organizing lectures given by distinguished experts. It is an educational program that promotes the research and development of signal and information processing in Asia-Pacific region. During the two-year term, the APSIPA Distinguished Lecturers will be serving as ambassadors of APSIPA and outreaching to audience in Asia Pacific region as well as worldwide.

 

 

Chen Jie

Dr. Jie Chen is a professor, and Vice Dean of Center of Intelligent Acoustics and Immersive Communications (CIAIC) at Northwestern Polytechnical University. He worked at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, US and Observatory of Cote d'azur, France respectively during 2013 - 2015. 

He received Ph.D. degree of  University of Technology of Troyes (UTT), France in 2013 (work performed at University of Nice Sophia-Antipolis). He received Engineering degree and Master's degree of UTT and Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), China respectively in 2009. He received B.S. of XJTU in 2006.
