报告题目：Robust Adaptive Learning for Marine Control

报告摘要:Offshore operations have been moving towards ultra-deep waters, more challenging environment and arctic areas where richer resources are detected and to be mined. One of the unavoidable challenge we have to cope with is the large amount of shielding effects due to Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) in the vicinity. We are not only interested in designing control systems for the floatel system which is highly robust and adaptive to the environmental impacts while maintaining/increasing the uptime of operations between the floatel and FPSO, but also to provide guidelines in designing the next generation floatel for the industry. In this lecture, I will first give an introduction of the robust adaptive learning control systems, then go through modelling and control of subsea installations. Multi-agent cooperation is in great demand driven by the need for sea. Formation control for marine surface vessels is next introduced. I also would like to conclude my lecture by presenting an experiment on autonomous surface vessel to address technical issues industry faces.
报告人简介：Professor Shuzhi Sam Ge is director of Social Robotics Lab and Smart Systems Institute in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National University of Singapore. He received BSc degree and MSc degree from Beijing University of Aeronautics & Astronautics in 1986, and received his Ph.D. degree and Diploma of Imperial College in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering from the Imperial College in 1993. Since 1993, he has been with the National University of Singapore. He is a Fellow of IEEE, IFAC, IET and Singapore Academy of Engineering.
His research interests include but not limited to social robotics, intelligent systems, and intelligent equipment. He was the recipient of Inaugural Temasek Young Investigator Award (2002), Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA) and National Technology Award of the National Science & Technology Board (2002), NSFC National Outstanding Youth Award (2001) and IEEE Control Systems Society Distinguished Member Award (2013). He has (co)-authored 7 books, and over 800 international journal and conference papers, with high H index (82) and citations (27,000). He is Clarivate Analytics (former Thomson Reuters) high-cited scientist in 2016-2018, Elsevier high-cited scientist in 2014-2018.
